A growing number of educational programs focus on sustainable tourism. Whether you want to become a more conscientious traveler, get a degree in sustainable tourism, or find a continuing education course, varied resources for education and training in responsible travel ensure that there are options for you.
Sustainable Travel International (STI) offers many different educational and training programs, all of which can be tailored to your needs. The curriculum is flexible and fully customized to the audience. It can be delivered one-on-one or through presentations, workshops, executive education programs, training manuals, or on-line through distance learning.
STI collaborates with the University of Colorado's Center for Sustainable Tourism as well as George Washington University's International Institute of Tourism Studies to offer Lifelong and Distance Learning programs as well as a Tourism Destination Management certificate program.

Opportunities for Education, Training and Research with STI
- Lectures and Conferences Representatives of Sustainable Travel International and the Center for Sustainable Tourism are available to share ideas and information about the latest responsible travel and sustainable tourism-related topics and trends. - Tourism Destination Management Certificate Program This program is designed for tourism destination managers, marketers, developers, tour operators, business owners, planners and others who want to accelerate their careers within the growing travel and tourism industry. Through the use of expert analysis, tools, best practices, benchmarks and case studies, the program is designed to provide professionals, as well as those new to the industry, those essential skills needed to enhance long-term sustainability and success in tourism and related areas. In addition to being offered through on-line distance learning, the Tourism Destination Management certificate program can be delivered on-site anywhere in the world, in either a generic format or customized to the needs of a particular organization or group of individuals. - Executive Education Designed to empower travel and tourism executives, the Executive Education programs help them to introduce sustainable tourism and related concepts within their organizations while fostering professional, intellectual, and personal development, so that they can manage more efficiently and effectively, improve profitability, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiencies. The program duration is 1-3 days. Course offerings include Introduction to Sustainable Tourism, Public Policy, Green Accommodations, Tourism Finance, Tourism Marketing, Sustainable Tourism Management, and many others. - Consumer Courses and Seminars Our Consumer Courses and Seminars are designed for community and affinity groups of all sizes, including civic organizations, school groups, and religious institutions. These courses provide individual travelers, conscientious consumers, and others with the information required to travel more responsibly and leave the world a better place. Programs can last anywhere from an hour presentation to half- or full- day seminars. Courses similar to those in Executive Education are available, as well as offerings in Responsible Tourism and Facts for the Visitor.
